God’s Will: Hearing His Voice

When you arrive in Heaven, do you want to stand before God and hear Him say, “You did my will”?

I’m sure your answer is “yes,” but the question becomes, “What is God’s will for my life?” According to John chapter 10, God’s will includes hearing His voice.

In Matthew 22, Jesus told the parable of the Wedding Banquet. In the parable, a king prepares a wedding banquet for his son. However, many of the guests made excuses for why they could not attend. Some tended to their livestock, others to their business.

Much like in the parable, we often focus on what we think we need to do rather than what God has called us to do. God has given us free will, and we are only invited to do His will. We can, and sometimes do make a choice not to.

Make God’s will the number one priority in your life, so you don’t miss out on the blessings God has for you.

God’s will is a perfect place you can be in your life.

In God’s will, you’ll find spiritual and physical protection and perfect prosperity. God loves us, and when He calls us to do His will, he will provide for us. That doesn’t just include ministry. Whatever you’ve been called to do, you can preach the gospel with how you live.

John 10 talks about hearing and knowing the voice of God. You’re never too young to hear God’s voice and understand your will. Train up your children to know these things by doing things like going to church and learning Bible verses.

The number one way to hear the voice of God is through the word of God. Hebrews 4:12 talks about the word of God being alive, powerful, and sharper than a double-edged sword. By consuming the word, it produces something on the inside of us.

John 10 talks about sheep. Are you a sheep? If you’ve received Jesus as your Savior, then you are the sheep, and Jesus is the door that protects you from the thieves in the night.

As a sheep, you can discern between God’s voice and stranger’s voices. However, you must take the time to hear His voice by spending quiet time in the word, praying, and listening.

As a sheep, you already know His voice

Even in the midst of turmoil, you can still hear his voice and distinguish it from the lies of the devil. The devil tries to make you feel afraid. Afraid of your finances, health, and afraid for your loved ones. However, God’s word has already spoken to you about this by saying FEAR NOT!

The difference between those who can and cannot hear God’s voice is simply a difference in will. Jesus knocks, but you must answer the door, and keep your heart from being hard to his voice.

According to Luke 5:17, when Jesus is allowed to speak into your life, the power of God is present to heal. Don’t be hard-hearted and ignore the power and presence of God that’s in our midst.

If you are a sheep, you do not hear the thieves and the robbers. Killing, stealing, and destroying is not God; that’s the thief.

The good news is that Jesus wants you in his flock, regardless of who you are. Hear His voice every day – it’s God’s will for your life.
